Acquisition de Locarest par le Groupe Loxam

Dans le cadre de sa stratégie de développement, le Groupe Loxam a acquis la société Locarest, société de location de matériels créée en Alsace en 1957. Depuis Août 2006, le capital de la société était réparti entre le fonds EPF Partners, l’équipe de management et des actionnaires familiaux.

Cette société sera rapprochée de la société Loueurs de France, ce qui permettra de compléter son réseau sur la partie Est de la France et sa gamme, pour un meilleur service à ses clients du BTP et des espaces verts. L’association de ces 2 entités constituera un réseau national de 115 agences.

L’équipe dirigeante conduite par Monsieur Pascal Burg continuera à manager Locarest.

A l’issue de cette opération, la part de marché du Groupe Loxam en France est estimée à 21 % et le groupe conforte ainsi sa position de N°1 en Europe avec un réseau de 608 agences.

Acquisition of Locarest by the Loxam Group

As part of its development strategy, the Loxam Group has acquired the company Locarest, a rental company founded in 1957 in Alsace. Since August 2006 Locarest’s capital has been shared between the EPF Partners fund, the management team and family shareholders.

This company will be linked to Loueurs de France, strengthening its network on the Eastern part of France and its range for a better service to its customers in the construction and landscaping sectors. The merger of these 2 units will constitute a national network of 115 branches.

The current team led by Mr Pascal Burg will keep on managing Locarest.

Following this acquisition, the French market share of the Loxam Group is estimated to 21% and the group reinforces its leading position in Europe with a network of 608 branches.

The Loxam Group has entered into exclusive negotiations with Locarest’s shareholders.

Founded in Alsace in 1957, Locarest operates a 66-branch network and realised in 2010 a turnover of 48 millions Euros. Since the arrival of the EPF Partners fund in its capital in August 2006, Locarest has developed its presence in the Eastern part of France through branch openings and acquisitions. It benefits from a solid recognition and an acknowledged professionalism in the construction and landscaping sectors.

For Loxam, the acquisition of Locarest contributes to the consolidation of its domestic market and to a denser French presence. Locarest will be linked up with Loueurs de France, one of the 3 French generalist networks of the Loxam Group. The merger of these 2 entities, complementary from a geographical point of view, will constitute a 115 branch national network.

The team led by Mr Pascal Burg will keep on managing Locarest.

The actual acquisition of Locarest by EPF Partners, its management team and its family shareholders should take place within the upcoming weeks.

To make rental even more interactive, Loxam launches new iPhone app

In 2009, Loxam became the first global equipment rental company to provide its customers with a mobile app to simplify their lives. Ever improving its offer by adding relevant services, the European leader in equipment rental has just launched the version 2 of its iPhone app. Completely revamped, the app is designed to enhance interactivity between the brand and its customers.

Continuing the services which made version 1 such a success, the 2011 version of the LOXAM app makes it just as easy to locate the closest branch via satellite navigation, to see the current special offers, and to access all the construction industry menus… To give its users a personalised service and technical assistance and to allow them to instantly see everything the Loxam Group has to offer, the new iPhone app also provides an instant connection to the LOXCALL service, ensuring a tailored response to every customer’s needs.
With over 10,000 downloads in its first year, this app has proved to be a welcome solution among iPhone owners. Now, in order to offer even greater interactivity, Loxam has chosen to launch a new version of the Loxam for iPhone app.

Version 2.0 of the Loxam app is the gateway to total interactivity between the rental provider, its remote services and the customer. From now on, this new version will offer the main functionalities available on the website www.loxam.fr.

On a daily basis, mobile Internet users can find out about new products and services and (sale or rental) promotional offers at all times. They can also stay up to date with news about the European leader in equipment rental.

To involve its customers and increase brand loyalty in a fun way, Loxam is launching a section entitled ‘Mission Reporter’, posting photos online of the top ten standout building sites. The multimedia element also extends to the integration of the LOXAM YouTube video channel, which broadcasts videos of the new equipment for rental from Loxam.

With customer service always in mind, the LOXAM 2.0 app also enables its users to fill in a quotation request form in just a few seconds, making it even easier to rent equipment at any place and at any time. Industry professionals have clearly hotly anticipated this update, because the new version of the app has already had over 8,000 downloads since its launch. 3i, an international investor focused on private equity, infrastructure and debt management, and Pragma Capital, today announce they have taken a minority stake in Loxam Holding, the French and European leader in the equipment rental industry. 3i and Pragma Capital have invested approximately €60 million.

Established in 1967, Loxam is a pioneer in rental equipment for the construction and civil engineering industries. The company currently has a turnover of more than €700million and employs nearly 4,000 people across 11 countries. By focussing its development on organic growth and strategic acquisitions in France and abroad, Loxam now has a total of 541 branches worldwide. Having grown steadily over the years, the company now as fleet of equipment totalling 200,000 items across 1,000 product types.

The investment by 3i and Pragma Capital will accelerate the company’s growth strategy which includes:
